| Welcome to Brenzone |
|
|
There is a zone towards the north end of Lake Garda, at the foot of Monte Baldo, where, as we pass through it, we seem to move back into history: many quaint fishermen’s villages clustered around a port and many rustic rural hamlets in the hills. Brenzone, traditionally called Magugnano, is the name given to this area and its districts, part on the lake (Assenza, Porto, Magugnano, Marniga and Castelletto), part on the mountain foothills (Castello and Sommavilla) and part on the steep slopes of Monte Baldo such as Prada. Brenzone means not only lake but mountains too (2000 m). Many are the different kind of sports: sailing, windsurf, waterski, diving, paragliding, mountain bike, trekking and in winter ski. Garda Extra Virgin Olive Oil, thanks to a generous climate, excellent terrain, correct mix of local olive varieties, special care in harvesting and pressing the olives, can be considered the Prince of dressing! And very famous are the chestnuts too, a classic Autumn fruit, roasted with all their inviting smell or boiled, to be accompanied by a good red wine!
